Daylight Moon

Distracted to a dying night
Commotion settled as the echoing voices faded with the light
Ships, cars, people departing as the dim sky settled in
The sand, the scenery, the crashing of waves less apparent

A daylight soon departed without sight
Staring off into a falling night
Our impressions left inscribed in the sand

Sitting side by side before the fade
My left hand attempted grasping her right hand
Only to feel an imprint of her hand in the sand

In the fade of all commotion
I stood alone in confusion
As enough trickling daylight moon revealed
Footsteps walking distant in the sand
Her too fading less apparent

  1. Great rhythm and flow. I see some old-school poetry tricks used well here. This one is very good. Seriously, I feel it. Great work.
